![]() I find that mixing music with an on-screen mixer can be time-consuming. My favorite DAW-integrated features are the eight faders. It’s one thing to have a keyboard with cool features it’s another thing entirely to use those features to directly control a DAW. I was impressed not only at the tactile tools Arturia included, but also their well-thought-out DAW compatibility. Sixteen pads are next door, followed by global controls, and ending with mixers and faders on the right side. At one octave less than an acoustic, it packs its features in neatly organized groups. 8Gig Ram.The Arturia KeyLab 61 MkII includes some handy features well within the budget of many musicians. Anyone else experienced this?Is it time for a new machine?Seemed to be working fine a month ago.I'm running:MacBook Pro mid 2010 17 inch.2.66 GHz Intel Core i7. I can quantize the notes but then the audio files are out of time. Ultrabeat seems to work pretty close (but not perfect) but when I change to other drum kits it throws everything off. I have troubleshot every possible scenario that would usually be suggested on forums and nothing has changed whatsoever. All updated drivers installed in interface. I have tried going to 128 buffer size and everything in between to no avail. ![]() This is happening during tracking and playback. When they did that the latency stopped but now everything is hitting about 1/4 note too soon. I talked with Apple for hours and the best they could do was go into Preferences (Not in Logic, in library) and remove the ists. Piano Roll, using a control surface, I can literally see the marks are about 1/4 note off the measures. Like I said, if there were latency issues I know how to fix them.About a week after upgrading, what I'm experiencing severe latency issues, primarily through software instruments. I have recorded with 1024 (or whatever the highest buffer rate is) for years with absolutely no similar issues. buffer size, LLM, removing plug-ins in channel or master tracks, etc. Aside from the occasional pain of "system overload" during playback, I have NEVER had latency issues that were not fixable through tweaking preferences - i.e. I have been using Logic for over 12 years and Logic X for about 5 (ever since they released it). Sudden Latency in Logic X after High Sierra Update? I am having significant latency related issues with Logic X a week or so after latest OS updates. "Download Essential Sounds" and "Download All Available Sounds" are grayed out, and I only have the option of "Reinstall Sound Library." Does anyone have an idea about how I can get the rest of the available Logic instruments on my iMac? Why would the iMac and MBP show different instruments when the MacOS and Garageband versions are the same? I've tried reinstalling the Sound Library on the iMac multiple times with no change. In the first category alone (01 Logic Instruments) the iMac shows two instruments (Hybrid Basic Synth and Hybrid Morph Synth) and the MBP shows 17 instruments (including both of those hybrid synths). The iMac shows seven categories for Logic, whereas the MBP shows eleven. The MBP shows tons more Legacy > Logic instruments than the iMac. Both have 8 GB RAM the MBP has 128 GB of storage and the iMac 512 GB. Garageband 10.4.6 doesn't show as many Logic instruments on my iMac as my MacBook Pro My 2020 M1 13" MacBook Pro and 2021 M1 21" iMac both run Monterey 12.6 and Garageband 10.4.6. External audio such as guitars/electric drum kit So I'm wondering if the computer is just too old to run this version of Logic? Some are as small as 4-5 tracks with very few - if any - effects. The tracks I'm working on aren't complex (yet!). I've tried the obvious things - changing buffer size etc - but it's still really, really bad and unusable. After reading some advice on here, I moved all of the samples and sounds on to an external hard drive to free up space, too.īut since installing everything on there and getting Logic Pro up and running, I'm having real problems with latency. I did a factory reset on the computer to get rid of everything I don't need on there and then installed Logic Pro X. I've got Logic Pro X which has been running fine on my new MacBook Pro, but after an office clear out I've brought home an old iMac 27" that I'd love to put in my home studio (so I can leave it all set up and ready to go whenever I need it!)
